It’s a Lego Christmas

Merry Christmas Lego miniatures - Hello Little House

Santa hasn’t arrived yet…

This was supposed to be a photo of a Lego Minifigures Santa wishing you a Merry Christmas,   but after buying six mystery packs you can see that I didn’t get my Santa.

So to wish you a Merry Christmas instead you have the DJ, the Lederhosen Guy, the Thespian, the Cowgirl, the Conquistador and Darth Vader.

I’m sure we’re all in the same boat trying to finish up work, last minute shopping and Christmas preparations, so I’m going to sign off for a few days and come back just after Christmas fresh and revitalised with a big challenge for the New Year.

Thank you for your support this year and I’m looking forward to an exciting year ahead for Hello Little House.

Merry Christmas!

Tea of the month : December

Yes, my tea is pink!  I’m trying to be a little more adventurous with my tea drinking and instead of my standard black, I’m trying a few different herbal blends.  I’ve never been a huge fan of herbal teas but I’ve found a couple of favourites of late and thought it might be nice to [...]

Roasted garlic dipping oil

A recipe?  Not so much.  But if you’ve ever over-indulged on fresh bread & dipping oil before your meal arrived at a restaurant, you’ll understand why I had to post this.  Fresh bread is tempting enough but beside a dish of herbed dipping oil it is completely irresistible. Roasted garlic is super simple to make [...]

Recipe love : cocktails

It’s that time of year – Christmas parties & catch-ups are filling the calendar and we’re all probably enjoying an extra tipple or two.  I’m a bit fussy when it comes to alcoholic drinks and I really don’t have a ‘go to’ favourite but considering I’m well clear of the pregnancy and breastfeeding dry spell, [...]

Matchbox advent calendar

I’ve never had an advent calendar before.  Maybe, just maybe, one year I might have had one of those novelty chocolate calendars you buy at the supermarket, but advent calendars just weren’t a part of our Christmas tradition growing up.  Now that I have my own kids and we’re asked a dozen times a week [...]

Caramel popcorn

This is a recipe reserved for Christmas because I can only be trusted with making this once every 12 months.  Even as I type this post I have the same sugar headache I remember from last year.  When will I learn?  Sugar headache aside, this caramel popcorn makes a simple (and slightly naughty) Christmas gift [...]

Recipe love : Christmas cookies

I’m well and truly in the Christmas spirit now.  The tree is up, the nativity scene is set and I’m looking forward to the boys starting the advent calendar this weekend (which might alleviate some of the ‘when is Santa coming?’ questions…). I have a fantasy that one year I’ll be baking homemade cookies decorated [...]

Treasure chest birthday cake

Ahoy there me hearties! A little pirate in our house turned 4 last week and requested a pirate treasure chest for a birthday cake.  The pillaging pirate was pretty happy with the end result and I swear there’s still a few gold coins hidden in his bedroom. Now, whenever you make a birthday cake what [...]

Handmade Christmas inspiration

It’s about this time of year that I realise I’m not going to get all of my Christmas craft aspirations completed in time and I should have started back in July.  There’s still a little time left and I’m hoping to complete a few simple projects, but in the meantime I’ll continue to Pin and [...]
