Call off the search party! I’m no longer missing in action. I know it’s been a while since my last post but I have very good reason. Let’s just say that the last 2 weeks have been a combination of incredible highs and significant lows.
The high points? Attending my first paid gig as a food stylist and photographer. This was such a wonderful opportunity and one that I’ll talk about more at a later date. The editing and writing work has taken me away from my own blog a little, but it’s been a lot of fun and a great experience and I’m looking forward to continuing this work in the future (hopefully!).
The low points? For starters my husband and I were wiped out with a violent gastro virus. It has taken nearly 2 weeks for us to get back to normal and face the sight of food again. Needless to say the thought of a Paleo diet of eggs, beef and chicken was the last thing I could stomach. I pretty much lived on fresh air, vegemite on toast and Hydralite for more than a week. Then a few days later was another low point when I tripped on some stairs in the city and completely mangled my ankle. When I say mangled I mean a black, bruised, twisted foot that swelled up to twice it’s size. Luckily I didn’t fracture any bones and with a few trips to the Physio I’ll be back to normal in no time. Not fun at all though.
The low points have forced me to slow down and take a wee break these last 2 weeks but I finally feel like I’m ready to get back to business.
60 day challenge resumes
After my carb reload these last 2 weeks my Paleo challenge took a little time out. So I’ve decided that I’m just going to pick up where I left off and pretend like the last 2 weeks didn’t happen. Not in a negative, self-loathing kind of way but rather a ‘let’s keep moving forward’ kind of way. So my next update will be my 42 day recap and then I’ll extend the challenge for an additional 2 weeks at the end. Sound fair?
Now I have some serious Paleo meal planning to organise…
