Well I got through 7 days and I’m still kickin’. Not that I thought this challenge was going to be the death of me, but I knew it was going to be a tough 7 days. The first few days I was like a bear with a sore head and I feel sorry for anyone who crossed my path. I was super cranky and had a splitting headache that nothing seemed to fix. I was also hungry all the time and eating more than I usually would. Just what you’d expect from a sugar detox!
The 7th day (yesterday) was the first time that my appetite and my mood seemed to really settle down and I’m hoping that means I’m over the worst of it now. My head just seemed clearer and I wasn’t particularly hungry.
Even with all the crankiness though, I’ve really enjoyed the food I’ve eaten this week and I’m looking forward to trying more of the many Paleo recipes that I’m collecting.
Biggest challenges this week?
There’s been a few! Like keeping organised with my food and always thinking at least a meal ahead. I’ve also found it hard keeping a food journal – it’s not something I’m used to doing so I keep forgetting.
Food journal & new recipes
I’ve tried a few new meals this week and loved most of them. Like fiery jalapeno beef burgers, Moroccan chicken lettuce wraps and bacon-wrapped jalapeno chicken bites. We’ve cooked almost every meal on the BBQ too so I feel like I’ve had an easy week for meals. I’m hoping to try that again this week!
You’ll see in my food journal below that some foods have been marked with an (*). These foods are included in the ‘recipe links and more info’ section at the bottom of my 60 day challenge page.
On Pinterest? I’ve been busy pinning recipes and tips to my Paleo : Primal Pinterest board. You can follow it here.
